Callaway Fields is a growing nursery and garden center on the south edge of Mexico, Missouri. Most of what you'll find here was grown or finished on this ground — which means the plants you buy have already lived through a central Missouri summer, a central Missouri clay winter, and whatever August decided to do that year.

That matters more than people expect. We can also tell you exactly how a plant behaves here, because we've watched it do it.

The greenhouse is part nursery, part display garden. There's a native prairie planted out back, hydrangeas and butterfly bush in the beds, statuary tucked in between, and six greenhouses. You're welcome to walk all of it.

We're a small operation and we like it that way. If you call, you get somebody who works here. If you ask a question we don't know the answer to, we'll say so and then go find out.
